Austin Oyster Festival is back again; but this year, it’s at The Lawn at Seaholm. We’ve had the pleasure of managing this venue, and are so excited to host this public event on Saturday, February 24 from 12 to 6p.m. To give us more insight into the Oyster Festival, we chatted with our very own Shelby Olivier, who is managing the Lawn at Seaholm for Austin Oyster Festival.
RVE: What can people expect to experience at Austin Oyster Festival?
Shelby: People can look forward to a variety of Gulf and East Coast oysters served many ways alongside additional seafood accompaniments, Bloody Marys, beer, wine, and spirits. There is live local music featuring Cajun and Bluegrass tunes, as well as some smooth stylings from Robert Kelly and The Blue Mist!
RVE: What’s the benefit of hosting the Austin Oyster Festival at The Lawn at Seaholm?
Shelby: Moving the Austin Oyster Festival to Seaholm will keep it more centrally located and contained, which will give it much more of a community feeling as well as being less spread out. It’ll be easily accessed and viewed by the public.
RVE: How does Austin Oyster Festival tie into the Austin community?
Shelby: The Austin Oyster Festival is presented by Jeri’s Seafood and the HOPE Farmers Market benefiting the Central Texas Food Bank. Oyster Fest also partners with lots of local sponsors such as Deep Eddy Vodka to pull off this event. It’s truly Austin through and through!
RVE: So what’s the ticket situation?
Shelby: General Admission tickets are $60 and they typically sell out every year – so get them online here while you can! We anticipate over 1500 people in attendance.
RVE: Where can people go to learn more about the Austin Oyster Festival?
