Q) Everyone has that aha! moment in their life when they figure out what they really wanted to do as a career. What was the first sign that you were meant for the events and meeting industry?
A) I’ve always loved working with people. I used to work in client services for a company in the music industry. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to help plan and execute many of their events. From there, I knew I wanted to be involved in the events and meeting industry in any facet I could!
Q) How did you learn about Red Velvet Events?
A) I learned about Red Velvet Events through social media and saw they were hiring. I had been looking for a new opportunity, as I wanted to work for a company that would challenge me and one that I could see myself making a career with. I fell in love with RVE and am so happy to be a part of the team now!
Q) RVE’s love for Austin is well known. What’s your very favorite thing about Austin?
A) I recently moved here, so I have plenty of exploring to do still. So far, I love all of the amazing food options, though – I have a dairy allergy, so it’s always been difficult for me to try out new places, but in Austin there are so many options for me. I also love the culture and diversity of this city, it’s incredible!
Q) Nothing’s perfect – not even our beloved city. If money and time were no object, what’s the one thing you would change about Austin?
A) I wish there was something that could be done about the crazy rush hour traffic or the extreme weather conditions. I’m originally from Minnesota and I’m not used to this kind of heat!
Q) Everyone says they’re detail oriented. But what secret trait about you really demonstrates your commitment to order and details? (for example, do you separate cold and non-cold items before you check out at the grocery store, or do you color code your socks?)
A) I LOVE organizing and being extremely detail-oriented. I believe that everything has a specific order and place. I love to organize my closet by article of clothing and then also by color within each category. Some call it crazy, but I call it practical 😊
