For the second year in a row, Austin was named the Best Place to Live in the United States according to U.S. News and World Report. Of course we already thought that, but it’s nice to have it confirmed once again!
So why is Austin the best place to live? You can read all the statistics by checking out the U.S. News and World Report article we linked to above, but we thought we’d give you a few of our reasons why we think Austin is the best.
There are startups and entrepreneurs abound. We used to be one of them! Back in 2002 when Cindy started Red Velvet Events, it was just her and her determination. That same grit can be found in many startup companies here. Plus, we have places like Capital Factory that help grow entrepreneurs and startups into successful and thriving businesses. If Austin’s the sandbox, startups are in it, and they all play nice.
It’s warm almost all the time. That means we get to be outside most of the year. Your group wants a day at the ranch in February? Perfect! Thinking of hosting an outdoor concert in November? Done. Because the weather here is perfect nearly all of the time, we don’t have many restrictions on what can be done outside, so we take advantage of that as much as possible.
The neighborhoods flourish with cultural differences. Austin is one big melting pot, but the neighborhoods are still somewhat distinct from one another. Depending on what piques your interest, you may end up in a part of Austin that you’ve never experienced before. Curra’s Grill on Oltorf, for example, serves up the best dang avocado margaritas in the city; while the Thinkery in Mueller offers fun for families of all ages. It’s these “hidden” gems that make Austin great.
